Antoinette Lortan’s passion and commitment to support growth in individuals, teams and organizations’ started years ago when she managed a food service unit while studying B. Dietetics at the University of Pretoria. She was 23 years old when she got given the responsibility to manage a foodservice unit in a Pretoria hospital. Due to the fact that she enjoyed managing a team, allowed herself to learn from her mistakes as well as the fact that she worked with individuals of all ages, cultures and at all levels of Maslow’s hierarchy sparked her hunger for management and leadership development. This desire landed her, her 1st position in the Pharmaceutical industry in 1995. She climbed the corporate ladder where she built and headed up the Renal division and also the Transplantation division very successfully within Roche Pharma SA, from 2002 – 2007.
Being very task and results driven she realised very early in her career that there is a huge difference between managing and leading people. That is when she started to explore developing her coaching and mentoring skills to improve her own leadership skills. She completed 2 Internationally Accredited Coaching diplomas and has been coaching individuals and teams for over 11 years now.

This passion was also born from a burning desire to create team synergy, better decision making and more motivated individuals and teams. She also enjoys public speaking and talk about topics close to her heart as she believes that people only “get” what you got yourself. The topics are listed on the “Motivational talks” page.
Antoinette is a proud mother of two girls. Her passions are singing, music & theatre. She has been privileged to experience God’s grace and mercy in her life through a few desert storms of her own. Through these desert storms she learnt that the mirror needs to be turned back to the coach in order to serve her client wholly and give them the value they deserve through continuously growing within herself. Also, regarding the sunflower analogy, she learnt that God is forever faithful and not to lose focus on your purpose. Antoinette is spiritual and anybody is welcome as she believes we are all connected and here to walk each other home safely and joyously.

Human Mirror Consultancy’s focus is on growth, but growth can’t happen without reflection, the right focus, commitment and action. From here one starts to create and grow, in line with one’s vision and purpose.
The sunflower also represents a sunrise and we want our clients to remind themselves that every sunrise brings new opportunities and this also serves for Human Mirror Consultancy to create job opportunities for more coaches, facilitators, speakers, mentors and teachers. Antoinette has carefully selected facilitators and coaches over the years that share the same passion and values as well as the skills needed to match the need of the client. You can’t create the desired result if you are not developed by people who “got it” themselves 1st.
